UPDATE 8/30/13: After two all nighters in a row (which were totally worth it to finish her costume :-)), H.P. and I are off to Dragon*Con. Due to the time crunch, we’ll post pictures of our costumes after we return.
I want to say the Female Journeyman Warcaster – but I cannot seem to find her name anywhere!! That chest piece looks AMAZING, by the way. What is it made of? I want one!! 😀
The chest armor is made of Wonderflex: a type of plastic that becomes very pliable at higher temperatures. Basically, you cook it in an oven or warm up a section with a heat gun, mold it to the desired shape, then let it cool. At normal temperatures, it’s fairly rigid and will hold its shape very well.
H.P. is pulling out all the stops on this one. I’m very excited to see the finished product. My costume for Dragon*Con isn’t nearly as elaborate. 🙂 I’ll be going as Lynch from the Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team.
Haha darn! So thought I had it!! And yes! I know the stuff you’re talking about. A friend also uses it to build armour for cosplay. Such effective looking stuff! 🙂
